The use of a second camera makes it possible to take stereoscopic 3D x-ray images. In contrast to conventional planar x-ray images, with stereoscopic 3D images the operator sees the test item as a transparent, three-dimensional object with spatial depth.
The 3D images are taken in full resolution, without any expenditure of time or effort. The spatial representation considerably simplifies the evaluation of the x-ray images:
The stereoscopic images are presented on special 3D monitors. On this page, we can only show anaglyph images in red-cyan technique.
Please note that the red-cyan examples shown here can only provide a first impression. On modern 3D monitors, the image quality and impression of depth are by far higher.
